Here are some frequently asked questions we receive from people. Contact EdMD today if you have any questions other than those posted below. We’d love to chat with you to answer any initial process questions you may have.

How early should I start getting my student properly prepared to apply for college?

9th grade is the preferable time to begin your student’s college preparation and roadmapping. This allows us to plan their 4-year high school roadmap so when it comes time to apply to college, your student will have the strongest application possible.

What services does EdMD offer?

EdMD is proud to offer the following boutique College Admissions & Financial Aid Services:

  • College Preparation & Roadmapping
  • College & Major Selection
  • College Applications & Essay Assistance
  • Financial Aid Assistance

You can read more about each service on our SERVICES page.

What makes EdMD different from other college counseling services?

We are a boutique “one-stop shop” that is more affordable than our competitors.  We segment our services by the application type, so you only pay for the services you truly need.  And, unlike most of our competitors, we offer full financial aid services as well.

What EdMD’s experience?

Check out Dan Claffey and Julian Brooks’ bios on our MEET OUR COUNSELORS page.

How much do EdMD services cost?

Costs vary based on your needs.  See our PRICING EXAMPLES for a “typical client” needs chart.  Bottom line, you’re only charged for the services for which you truly need.

What are the steps in EdMD’s process?
  • 1st Step – Schedule your $99 consultation with EdMD where you will receive a one-on-one consultation with one of our counselors to discuss and determine your goals.
  • 2nd Step – EdMD does a “deeper dive” into your goals and will present you with a detailed and tailored solution for your student’s college prep roadmap.
  • 3rd Step – Finally, we ask you to sign a contract for services based on the devised roadmap and services required to complete your customized plan. This way, you’re only paying for the time and services your student truly needs, rather than choosing some sort of all-inclusive, expensive plan that may not be fully tailored to meet your needs or budget.
