Dan Claffey
Dan Claffey has a background in financial management. His journey to becoming a College Admissions and Financial Aid expert began in 2001 when he started working at Franklin Templeton and played a key role in launching their 529 college savings plans with the state of New Jersey’s Higher Education Student Assistance Authority. Unlike other states, New Jersey has its own application, scholarship and loan programs for residents. Dan was trained “on the job” and excelled at assisting advisors and their clients with their application, scholarship and financial aid processes. Dan opened his private practice, EdMD, in San Ramon, CA in 2004. Dan has had the pleasure of having worked with 2,000+ families, submitting over 24,000+ college applications and 32,000+ financial aid forms.

Julian Brooks
As an undergraduate, Julian wrote his dissertation on Juror Bias in Capital Punishment Sentencing in the State of Georgia in the 1970s. His graduate research project was an extensive Historiography of the Ku Klux Klan from 1866 to 1954. As a graduate student, Julian spent two years as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the History Department Chair lecturing for several undergraduate courses and helping students form, develop and edit their research papers. Julian has been with EdMD since 2015 as a College Adviser where he helps students craft memorable personal statements and helps to make the college admissions process easier for hundreds of families.
